Përfitues: 84 mijë banorë dhe rreth 300 mijë turistë.
Objektivi i Projektit: Përmirësimi i infrastrukturës urbane, nxitja e turizmit dhe forcimi i kapaciteteve institucionale për të mbështetur turizmin dhe zhvillimin e ekonomisë lokale në zonat e përzgjedhura në jug të Shqipërisë.

Komponenti 1. Projektimi urban dhe përmirësimi i infrastrukturës
Financon hartimin e projekteve për zbatimin e projektimit urban dhe përmirësime të infrastruktures bashkiake në katër qendrat urbane: Saranda, Gjirokastra, Berati dhe Permeti. Investimet në këto bashki të përzgjedhura do të përfshijnë rehabilitimin e:

hapësirave publike (psh, parqe, sheshe, pedonale);
rrjet rrugor, nyje inter-modale dhe infrastruktura shoqëruese (p.sh , trotuaret, kryqëzimet rrugore, ndriçimet rrugore, korsitë e biçikletave, stacionet e autobusëve);
restaurimin e ndërtesave të përzgjedhura të trashëgimisë dhe përmirësimin e fasadave të ndërtesave të zgjedhura;
përmirësimin e zonave turistike (p.sh. rrugët hyrëse, qendrat e vizitorëve, vendparkimet, sinjalistika turistike).
rehabilitimi i rrjetit të ujësjellës-kanalizimeve do të mbështetet rast pas rasti.

Ky komponent do të financojë gjithashtu përgatitjen e projekteve urbane, studimeve të fizibilitetit, projekteve inxhinierike, dhe supervizimin e projekteve ndërtimore; Infrastruktura nëntokësore do të përfshihet si pjesë e përmirësimit të rrjetit rrugor, kur të jetë e nevojshme.

Komponenti 2. Përmirësimi i siteve turistike
Financon investime që kanë për qëllim përmirësimin e siteve turistike që do të përzgjidhen përgjatë korridorit turistik në Shqipërinë e Jugut. Investimet do përfshijnë restaurimin e objekteve të trashëgimisë dhe aseteve kulturore, përmirësimin e infrastrukturës mbështetëse. Ky komponent do të financojë gjithashtu përgatitjen e studimeve të fizibilitetit, planet e menaxhimit të siteve, projektet inxhinierike dhe supervizimin e projekteve ndërtimore.

Komponenti 3. Tregu i turizmit dhe zhvillimi i produkteve
Ky komponent do të financojë aktivitetet për ngritjen e kapaciteteve për të përmirësuar menaxhimin bashkiak dhe zhvillimin ekonomik lokal të bazuar në turizëm.

The Government of Albania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Project for Integrated Urban and Tourism Development (PIUTD), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The overall objective of this assignment is to set in motion the improvement of tourism statistics in Albania, building on the recommendations made in the Tourism Information Management System and Statistics Improvement: Assessment and Technical Specification of Goods/System of Tourism Statistics and working closely with the newly established Inter-Institutional Platform (or Statistics relevant authority) that will act as the Steering Committee for the project.

The Consultant will be required to plan and commence implementation of six national surveys for the measurement of tourism, identify data sources that can be purchased from various bodies that will be of use in Albania’s system of tourism statistics, carry out the selection of a firm to develop the tourism statistics database, and undertake compilation of an experimental tourism satellite account including the compilation and production of the first tourism statistics and economic impact of tourism report for Albania in close cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, INSTAT and other relevant institutions.
